Local Law 85:

Compliance with NYC Energy Conservation Code (NYCECC) and NYC DOB TR-8 Progress Inspections

Local Law 85 (LL85), the second law in the Greener, Greater Buildings Plan (GGBP), requires buildings to meet the most current energy code for any renovation or alteration project. LL85’s requirement is based on a series of local energy laws, collectively called New York City Energy Conservation Code (NYCECC).

Compliance with the LL 85 also requires conducting NYC DOB Progress Inspections to insure projects’ as-built compliance with the NYC Energy Conservation Code.

Synergy Engineering is NYC DOB registered Special Inspections Agency and qualified to perform Energy Code Compliance inspections (TR-8/EN-2) and sign-offs.

Because of our expertise in building systems installation, commissioning and testing, Synergy often asked to perform both Commissioning and Special / Progress Inspections services. Due to some overlap in activities required to perform Commissioning and Inspections, some cost savings are realized and passes to the client.
