ABOUT THE PRINCIPAL
Alec Strongin
PE, CEM, LEED AP, Certified Building Commissioning Professional
PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
Alec Strongin has over 20 years experience in commissioning, energy management, testing adjusting and balancing (TAB), automation controls optimization and sustainable design for various commercial, institutional, mission critical and multipurpose buildings.
Alec possesses high level of expertise in the energy systems design, installation, and commissioning; hands-on field experience with energy systems performance interaction, start-up, balancing, testing, troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance procedures.
He is appointed to the NYC DOB Buildings Sustainability Board. The Buildings Sustainability Board comprised of experts with a background in engineering, architecture, green development and reviews and evaluates new “green” technologies not addressed in the New York City Construction Code and makes technical recommendations for their application within New York City.
Alec served on the USGBC core committee for Retail where he was tasked with developing the first LEED Certification Program for Retail.
Alec taught Building Commissioning at New York University (NYU) and Cooper Union. He developed an educational curriculum that addresses ever evolving nature of commissioning trade, emerging technology and the needs of building owners, facility personnel and other professionals.
